PUSHING FORWARD: Jack Ryan moves the ball up the field looking to pass.

The boys’ soccer team was excited to be back in action this fall. Jack Ryan, one of the many returning seniors, would play a key role for the team. His playing style helps him consistently contribute to the squad.

“I really just try to play as smart as I can and think ahead of everyone else. Being a player who passes a lot allows us to set up many opportunities for getting down field and taking shots,” said Ryan.

In the team’s first 3 games, Ryan scored a whopping 5 goals. His stats led his team to a 2-1 record to start the year, with a 2-1 win over Bartlett and a 4-1 win over Leyden. Unfortunately, Ryan suffered an ankle injury during these games and had to sit out several games. Ryan made the decision to play through his injury.

“I didn’t want to make it worse but I had to be there for my team and help us win,” he said.

Ryan finished with 12 goals and 5 assists, leaving his mark in the program.

“It’s sad because I’ve been playing with these guys for years now and any game could be our last all together. Each of us love this team and have made so many memories playing for this program,” Ryan said.
