Junior Dylan Wood has been an instrumental piece for DGN boys indoor track and field to start the season. Wood has been a key contributor in the distance part of the team. He has highlighted his performance with a top-five finish in the 800-meter at the Batavia Boys Open Meet Feb. 27. Wood credits his teammates and coaches as his main source of motivation throughout the season.
“My teammates and coaches motivate me a lot,” Wood said. “They always believe in and support me no matter what.”
That environment has influenced the team dynamic and relationships built through the sport. This team camaraderie has helped Wood be the best he can be.
“I like how running really connects people,” Wood said. “I have made lasting relationships with people that I never thought I would.
As the season progresses, Wood hopes to advance and compete well at the state meet. He also aspires to finish his high school career by continuing to improve and build on his performances.
