Players such as Michael Conforto have stepped up in huge moments, proving many critics wrong with clutch hits and walk off home runs winning the games. The Cubs recently swept the Cincinnati Reds in a thrilling four-game series at Wrigley Field, extending their winning streak and giving fans plenty to cheer about. 

Last Monday, the Cubs and Reds started their series. I attended the first game on Monday, the atmosphere was completely electric. Following the win, cheers erupted, people hugged, and “Go Cubs Go” rang throughout Wrigley field. Most fans stayed in their seats celebrating long after the game ended because everyone knew they had just witnessed something special. 

As the week continued, the Cubs kept finding ways to win. Their pitching staff dominated opposing hitters, while the offense exploded at the perfect times. Shota Imanaga delivered an incredible performance with 10 strikeouts in one game, and the Cubs offense backed him with eight runs in a huge victory over the Reds. Conforto continued his hot streak with multiple hits and another home run, becoming one of the most exciting players to watch on the team.

Cubs fans are known for being passionate about their team, and lately every game at Wrigley has a playoff like atmosphere. Every big hit sends the fans into a frenzy, and every win gives fans more hope that this team can make a serious postseason run. After years of ups and downs, the city of Chicago finally feels alive with baseball energy again. Wheter it is kids holding signs, fans singing after victories, or the sea of red white and blue jerseys filling Wrigleyville, the excitement surrounding the Cubs has become almost impossible to ignore. 

The Cubs recent winning streak has also brought a sense of confidence back to the players themselves. You can see it in the dugout celebrations, the energy on the field, and the way the team never seems to give up at the end of close games. If the team keeps playing with this much confidence and heart, Chicago may be in for an unforgettable baseball season.
