The Redbird Arena was exploding with roars from fans who went out to watch the Downers Grove North girls volleyball team face off against Prairie Ridge Nov 9. The night was filled with cheers and tension between both teams. Downers Grove North girls showed their grit and determination by winning the match in two games.The final matches ended with a score of 25-16 and 25-23.

The following night, the purple wave was yet again present at the Redbird Arena, this time watching the Trojan ladies volleyball team fight for first place. In the end DGN fell short, with scores of 21-25 and 11-25. Win or lose, the 2018 team made history with the first runner-up title ever won before for girls volleyball.
