Three years after her last solo album, “Artpop”, Lady Gaga has released her newest album “Joanne” on Oct. 21. Prior to it’s release, Gaga released the single, “Perfect Illusion”, which showcases a new side of her vocally.

“Joanne” most definitely brings a new sound from Gaga in comparison to her previously released work. This album features low excitement, western influenced ballads and a few catchy pop anthems.

The album was streamed more than 7 million times on the day of its release. “Joanne” has sold about half the number of copies than Gaga’s last solo album “Artpop”. Although “Joanne” has a unique sound, it was more disappointing than artistic which brings somewhat of a feeling of regret after purchasing. When hearing about a new album from Lady Gaga, I expected the same exciting, high tempo songs, but did not receive them.  

Sunday Feb. 5 Gaga will take the stage headlining the Superbowl 51 halftime show.
