Across the U.S. over 78,000 AT&T users reported their cellular service and internet down on Jan 22, before 8 a.m. CT. Some Verizon, T-Mobile, and Cricket Wireless customers also reported internet loss, but the vast majority of complaints were from AT&T customers.
According to NBC News, most connectivity issue complaints came from Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. This outage leaves customers with compromised internet unable to call 911. AT&T has advised its customers to make Wi-Fi calls while their cellular connection is remains down.
The company has been following up on customer complaints via ‘X’. Reasons for the loss of cellular service are not yet determined.
