Senior Tyler Schenk has been playing golf for as long as he can remember, and it shows in his performance on the course.

Schenk has had a very consistent season: 36 at Lagrange CC, 37/36 at Downers Grove, 36 at Meadowlark, 39 at Village links, and a 36 at Oak Park and River Forest High School.

As a senior on the team, Schenk takes on a leadership role and continues to encourage and uplift his teammates, whether they are at their highest or lowest.

“I try to help and assist the younger people on the team. I also do my best to encourage the younger players to not give up and play no matter how good or bad they are doing,” Schenk said.

Covid-19 made it difficult for many athletes to prepare for their upcoming seasons. On the other side of that coin, Schenk stayed on top of his training and put in the time and energy to make this season a one to remember.

“I feel that I am at the top of my game because of the time and work I have put in this offseason,” Schenk said. “I played in tournaments over the summer to prepare me for the state tournaments for school this season.”
