Jeff’s Bagel Run is a family-founded and family-owned company. The business was an up and coming establishment in Florida where the owners still reside. Now, Jeff’s has 30 locations and counting.. Jeff’s sets itself apart from all other bagel shops as they emphasize their focus on making authentic New York style bagels. The owners Jeff and Danielle Perera were motivated by their dream of having the same type of bagels they enjoyed throughout their childhood. “It seemed like a really fun job and a good opportunity,” Sophomore and Jeff’s Bagel Run employee Cassidy Moss said. “Everyone I work with is really fun and I enjoy seeing my friends come in.”
The establishment has a wide variety of savory bagels and sweet bagels, with 15 flavors to choose from and 17 flavors of cream cheese. This isn’t the only thing Jeff’s has to offer, the establishment offers a great selection of coffee, from cold brews to lattes, with 24 options to choose from. If you’re not a coffee drinker, don’t worry. Jeff’s offers lemonade with 4 different flavors.
For students, price is a big factor when it comes to food. Jeff’s prices are set at a costly price with their smallest cup of cream cheese sitting at $7.00, this is out of budget for most students. However Jeff’s Bagels start at about $2.50, which is a fairly good price. For most it is a problem that in order to pair your bagel with cream cheese, it would cost a customer about $10.00.
Jeff’s presentation has been talked about throughout the students at DGN, with most stating they were dissatisfied with their orders as Jeffs relies on boiling their Bagels rather than toasting them. Most students found this not appealing or even said their bagel was cold. Students have shown interest in the creative flavors of cream cheese the business offers, but were dissatisfied with the price.
Jeff’s bagel run offers an amazing selection of bagels and beverages. They offer something new that the Downers Grove community hasn’t seen before. Jeff’s is considered “overpriced” for many students, with many having numerous critiques for Jeff’s despite the initial positive ratings.
