Even if you have never heard of “It Ends With Us” before, there’s a good chance you’ve seen some clips of Blake Lively floating around the internet. More specifically, videos of her snapping at interviewers, making insensitive comments, and flaunting her (frizzy, might I add) hair. So, what’s really going on here?
All of the drama started when “It Ends With Us” fans realized that Lively and her co-star Justin Baldoni seemingly refused to be seen with each other post-production. At all of the events following, not a single picture or interview can be found where the two of them interact. Sources say that Blake felt “uncomfortable” around Baldoni, and she thought he lingered too long during an on screen kiss.
The internet isn’t buying this though, considering Lively’s other convictions against her. An old interview has resurfaced that has swayed the public’s view of Lively’s character. In said interview, Lively is pregnant and the interviewer congratulates her on her “little bump”. Lively snaps back, saying “Congrats about your little bump!” in an accusatory tone. Many feel like this was uncalled for, as the interviewer was just trying to comment on Lively’s very public pregnancy. Not to mention, the interviewer was not pregnant, so it is clear how this could have caused some offense.
Lively has continued to garner criticism as she has attempted to promote the “It Ends With Us” movie. The film itself adresses a serious topic regarding sexual assault and domestic violence. But, Blake strikes again, telling the public to “wear their florals and bring their friends” to go out to theaters and watch. Understandably, the internet feels Lively is making light of the movie’s true theme, and is trying to make the movie sound happy and bright- which it is not. On the contrast, Baldoni has been very vocal about the true message of the movie, repeatedly telling his audience that the movie is dedicated to all of the survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse.
The icing on the cake? Blake’s haircare brand – “Blake Brown”. Aside from the out of pocket commentary and her rude moments, fans are shocked with Lively’s audacity to shamelessly plug her brand any opportunity she can. She mentions it in almost every interview, and even went as far as to “do” an interviewer’s hair for her. The funny part is, her hair is really not all that.
